Birnin Kudu is split, so the flat's meter number is the only way to know.

  1. Get the meter number. It’s on the meter and on any token receipt.

“Hello, before I pay for the flat, please send me the prepaid meter number (or a photo of a recent token receipt) so I can confirm its electricity band. Thank you.”

  2. KEDCO has no online lookup. Ask customer care with the meter number (kedco.ng (opens in a new tab)).

  3. Or read a token receipt: a tariff code starting with A (e.g. ‘A-Non MD’) means Band A.

A listing can say Band A for a flat that's on another feeder. Ask for the meter number before paying.

About Birnin Kudu

Is Birnin Kudu Band A?
Partly. Of the 3 feeders the official lists name for Birnin Kudu, 1 is Band A, but NERC's October 2026 caps put one of those on Band B. 1 is Band B and 1 is Band C. Your band depends on the feeder your flat is on.
How many hours of power does Birnin Kudu get?
Band A feeders are promised at least 20 hours a day, Band B at least 16 and Band C at least 12. These are promised minimums, not guaranteed supply; a Band A feeder under 20 hours for 7 days in a row must be moved down.
How do I check a flat's band in Birnin Kudu?
Ask for the meter number and give it to KEDCO's customer care, who can tell you the feeder's band, or read a recent token receipt: a tariff code starting with A (for example 'A-Non MD') means Band A.
